I wuld like to comment on "broken people".
Of course that the American people are broken, and the reason is that they are citizens of a brutal Empire that also need 'to broke' other peoples in many countries from which the need to steal and to plunder.
Here is a good example:
Today, 21 of December, is the fiftieth anniversary of the historic embrace of Eisenhower and the Biggest Terrorist of the Twentieth Century, Generalissimo Francisco Franco, which took place in the American Air Base of Torrejon de Ardoz in Madrid.
The embrace was the official recognition of the Bloody Spanish Fascist Dictatorship that the Imperium helped to protect and to build with all means at its disposal:
In Madrid, in 1945, the Spanish Sub-Secretary of Exterior Affairs, Jos Maria Doussinague, gave to the head of the Associated Press in Madrid, Charles Foltz, a diaphanous declaration of the United States' intervention in the side of the fascist, asserting:
"WITHOUT NORTH AMERICAN PETROLEUM, CREDIT, BOMBS AND TRUCKS, WE COULD HAVE NEVER WON THE WAR"
("The Masquerade in Spain", Charles Foltz Jr. Houghton Co.: Boston, 1948; p. 52. Foltz became
Director of the Associated Press in Madrid (1940s) and became very familiar with the blody events in Spain)
Mister President:
It is with deep satisfaction that I have shaken your hand
for the first time and I welcome you on your arrival
in my Country's soil. This base of Torrejon, built with
the formidable assistance of the United States, and
sheltering Spanish and American wings in close compa-
nioriship, is a symbol of our friendship and has been
erected' under a motto which is, I am sure, very dear
to you: "Peace is our profession". Mr. President, you
also have undertaken, as our alert pilots, a vigorous
and moving profession of peace during your extended journey.
Permit me to express to you, in the name of the Spanish
people and my own, our deep admiration for the task
to-which you have dedicated yourself with so much
personal courage; our gratitude for having come to
visit us and to inform us about your epoch-making
tour; and finally our firm hope that your immense
effort and the historical mission of your great country
will be rewarded with the prize of a just and durable
international order.
Generalissimo Franco, Ladies and Gentlemen:
First of all let me assure you of my satisfaction, that, at long last I have fulfilled an ambition of mine, almost of a lifetime to come to Spain, to Madrid and to see the Spanish people.
More than four and a half centuries ago your great Admiral Columbus sailed on a voyage which changed the course of history. Not long after that America began its long role on the world scene. Since then Spanish men and women have explored and settled, preached and taught. Spanish culture and language have flourished in the New World beyond the dreams of Isabela and Ferdinand. In my own country, from Florida to California across the thousands of miles of the United States the memory of Spanish explorers and builders, soldiers and missionaries, lives imperishably in the names of rivers and cities and even states of the United States of America. My own life, in part, has been spent against the background of history made by Spanish pioneers. I was born in Texas where De Vaca traveled, and comrades of De Soto wandered after his death. I was raised in Kansas, which Coronado reached, and I spent some years in the far off Philli-pines. But I do not come to recall our ties of old and recent times, important though they are. I come to this nation, one of the ancestors of the Americas with a message from the American people to the Spanish people, .looking for a brighter future in cooperative labor, for the noblest of all human causes: Peace and friendship in freedom. On this mission I say to Spain and Spaniards: Let us work together so that in our own day we may see a long advance toward a world free from agression, from hunger and disease; free from war and free of the threat of war. Let us work together so that we may pass on to our children a golden promise that mankind will achieve peace with justice, friendship in freedom.
Between the two characters embrace is another character who fits well into the scene: a Major International Terrorist: VERNON WALTERS. ( See the picture at: http://sisifocansado.blogspot.com/2009/12/base-aerea-norteamericana-de-torrejon.html )
And here is the proof of such axiomatic fact:
Walters is regarded as a bastion of military intelligence of the Republicans, but also served under Truman and Kennedy. His whole career take place inside of the information services, unaffected by any change of administration policy. In 1960 he went to Rome as a military attache at the U.S. embassy in Italy. In this period is very active, through the network 'Gladio', he transfer CIA funds to the Italian Christian democracy. Electoral big trouble happens on full scale.
Two years later he travels to Rio de Janeiro (1962)..... Walters has been in contact with the anti-American who breathes in the countries located in the south; in 1945, when he attended the Pan American Conference in Bogota. Then there was a significant popular revolt against America, settled with two thousand casualties. No one knows (?) which was Walters's role in that slaughter, but we need to know that he was decorated for such actuation.
Since arriving in Brazil, he worked to lay the foundations of the military coup that overthrew President Joao Goulart constitutional government and opens a period of repression and torture. The leader of the rebels was Humberto Castelo Branco, (famous gangster) whom Walters had met years earlier at Fort Leavenworth (Texas), where the future deputy director of the CIA was still an obscure instructor who trained ‘oficiales brasileños”
In May 1972, Nixon appointed him deputy director of the CIA,
Richard Helms as director, and that same year amounted to lieutenant general. Remains in office until 1976.
In those four years, the Agency developed a remarkable activity and is involved in such important events as the overthrow of Salvador Allende in Chile, the occupation of Western Sahara to Morocco, the South African invasion of Angola, the political assassination of Chilean Orlando Letelier in the States, etc..
“The Spanish Transition was designed at Langley (Virginia), along the Potomac River, at the headquarters of the CIA. The final phase of this complex operation, culminating in the restoration of monarchy in the person of Juan Carlos I de Borbon, begin to forge in 1971 following the visit of General Vernon Walters to meet with Franco Spain. Walters, who will be appointed shortly after CIA deputy director, informed the vice president of government, Luis Carrero Blanco, of the need to coordinate the activities of information services for Americans and Spanish in order to laid down a plan before the eventual death of the Caudillo. And a few months later, the men of the Central Documentation Service, created in March 1972 under the direction of Lt. Col. Jose Ignacio San Martin, come into action.
Manuel Fernandez Monzon is then a young captain who has developed most of his fledgling career in information services, first in counterintelligence and later in the SECEDA. (intelligence service), to him was the duty to travel to Washington as a liaison between the Spanish intelligence services .... and the northeamerican’s brains of the operation.
In the Pentagon itself, Fernandez Monzon is received by a U.S. colonel.
"He put a large map in front of their deployed there, I point it out and wonder who saw"
"I answer:
"A world map”.
And he insisted:
"But what is in the center?".
The world map can be deployed in different ways, of course, but they had done so in the exact center of the Iberian Peninsula.
Then I said to him:
"At the center is Spain."
And he, smiling, said to me:
" 'Well…this is why you are here' "
This is part of the history of the Terrorist between the two other Terrorists. Today marks fifty years from they day that they embraced warmly at the U.S. base area of Torrejon de Ardoz. Madridand terror amid the other two terrorists
