LA "CRISIS DE IRAN": "Weapons of mass destruction are incompatible with Islam", and the "rain of ruin from the air, the like of which has never been seen on this earth".

                   He said: "Weapons of mass destruction
                         are incompatible with Islam".
             

Ayatollah Khomeini and his successors have condemned the manufacture , storage, use and threat of use of nuclear weapons to be contrary to religious values . They believe it is morally unacceptable to use weapons of mass destruction that indiscriminately kill civilians and military supporters and opponents of a government. This prohibition was enacted into law with the decree issued by the Supreme Leader of the Revolution , Ayatollah Khamenei, August 9, 2005 .

Iranian leaders have already demonstrated their obedience to this principle and the Iranian people had already paid dearly. It was during the war against Iraq launched by the country ( 1980-1988 ) . Saddam Hussein did take unguided missiles on Iranian cities. The Iranian army retaliated to the same until the Imam Khomeini intervene . He stopped the shooting , under this principle , which prohibits taking indiscriminately at the enemy cities. The country made the choice to endure a longer war rather than win it by using weapons untargeted.

It was to spare the Japanese people from utter destruction that the ultimatum of July 26 was issued at Potsdam. Their leaders promptly rejected that ultimatum. If they do not now accept our terms they may expect a rain of ruin from the air, the like of which has never been seen on this earth. Behind this air attack will follow sea and land forces in such number that and power as they have not yet seen and with the fighting skill of which they are already well aware. "
