Theodor Adorno was one of the great intellectual figures of the
twentieth century. Negative Dialectics is his major and culminating
work. In it he attempts to free critical thought from the blinding
orthodoxies of late capitalism, and .The book is
essential reading for students of Adorno. It is also a vital weapon
for making sense of modern times

As early as
Plato, dialectics meant to achieve something positive by means of
negation; the thought figure of a “negation of negation” later
became the succinct term.
Ese "establecido sistema de vida,
el que niega sus propias promesas
y potencialidades",
y al cual es "aplicada la negación dialéctica
mediante la critica of the given state of affairs"
es a lo que adorno llama "the wrong state of things"
Naturalmente, ese "wrong state of things" no puede ser otro que el capitalismo en toda la profundidad de las consecuencias enajenantes de la patología operacional implicita en sus múltiples ramificaciones que inevitablemente impacta en la ontología del individuo que vive bajo él, afectándo de contínuo su forma de ser y no-ser.
Esto en términos objetivos.
En términos subjetivos, la conciencia que el individuo tenga de ello dependerá, naturalmente, de su educación, cultura, intereses económicos, sensibilidad, intereses, etc., en esencia: dependerá de la Necesidad que se tenga de saber, de entender el mundo --al revés-- dónde se existe y del cual él mismo es su producto.
